2006 Inductee

Rich Newberg is a founding member of the Buffalo Broadcasters Association and serves as co-chair of the Archive Committee. He is spearheading efforts to retrieve Buffalo’s moving image history through the digitization of local television news film and videotape.
 
Rich’s career in television and radio news spanned 46 years. He retired as senior correspondent of WIVB-TV (Buffalo’s CBS affiliate) at the end of 2015.
 
Rich won 11 New York Emmy awards and an Emmy in Chicago. He is a past regional vice president of the National Television Academy’s New York Chapter. 
 
Rich was inducted into the Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2006. In 2019 hIs contributions to the television industry in New York were recognized by the National Television Academy’s New York Chapter, which inducted him into its Silver Circle.
